Darte is the imprint devoted to the art world of the publishing company Tau, based in Todi since 1997. It publishes monographs and art catalogues and follows the whole editorial process, from drafting the text to the graphic processing of the images.

Todi and Umbria
A land of painters and poets
Todi played a leading role in the literary, artistic and spiritual ferment that swept through Umbria from the first century of Christianity onwards. This region was home to Benedict of Norcia, Francis of Assisi and Jacopone da Todi, saints, poets and writers, but also to Perugino, Pinturicchio and Piermatteo da Amelia, painters who carried the greatness of this land far beyond its borders.

Our editorial team works with artists, authors, scholars, researchers, collectors, antique dealers and experts in figurative and abstract art, and with foundations, museums, galleries and auction houses.
We favour monographic subjects, including those by young authors, to fill gaps in the literature. Our attention to printing lets us choose with the author the paper and finish best suited to the work, like a fabric for a fashion designer. The design brings words and images together in a way that is specific to each volume.
We also handle promotion, distribution to bookshops in Italy and abroad, and sales on the main online platforms.
