Attribuito da Bellosi al Maestro degli Albertini, pittore della cerchia di Duccio, il manufatto mostra un ricco dialogo tra pittura e oreficeria con 14 clipei figurati e decori d’ispirazione islamica. La raffigurazione del Beato Ambrogio Sansedoni con la Vergine e Sant’Agostino ne fissa l’origine senese dopo il 1288, offrendo un importante contributo alla storia dell’arte e della devozione duccesca.
